Course Overview
You're a risk professional that wants to expand your operational risk skills into Emerging Technology. Perhaps you're a data science professional that needs to upskill on the risk side in order to take your machine learning model and Proof of Concept (PoC) further and embed into the operations of the business.
In this course, you will learn the strategic side of risk in change as it relates to the adoption of artificial intelligence and machine learning such that you can effectively govern the testing, deployment and model refinement. These steps will inherently bring changes to your BU's risk profile, prompt you to revisit the controls that have become obsolete and highlight heightened risk exposures that need to be addressed for continued success. Knowing how to integrate this ahead of time into a sound Risk Management Strategy (RMS) will ensure this.
In the practical project, you will build elements of a risk strategy as it relates to an AI/ML applied areas of your choice.
What you get and outline
Module 1
Intro to AI/ML
Understand the basics of AI/ML along with its terminology that you would need when establishing a risk oversight program in your organisation.
Module 2
Data structures and their risk elements
Understand the elements and their classification as structured and unstructured data while exploring the opportunities and risks of the interpreted data for decision-making.
Module 3
Machine learning models and model risk management
Review and understand design and model variability and the risks surrounding incorrect output interpretation. You will then explore how to conduct a Line 2 risk oversight of training data and segregating association results.
Module 4
ML data risks
Learn how to identify the key risk elements of a machine learning model as they arise from under specification, bias, unfiltered inputs and the 4-point data poisoning risk.
Module 5
AI/ML Ethics
A greater dive into bias risk and considering the privacy implications of an AI/ML project.
Module 6
AI/ML Risk Management Strategy as a way to steer it in your business
Bring all the previous modules together and build a mini AI/ML Risk Management Strategy in order to steer its adoption and efficient deployment in your organisation.
Exploring the future of responsible AI in government.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies offer promise for improving how the Government of Canada serves Canadians. As we explore the use of AI in government programs and services, we are ensuring it is governed by clear values, ethics and laws.
Value to you
AI/ML risk management for RMS
You have either one of a good GRC or data science knowledge. Know you have to tie them together into a sound Risk Management Strategy (RMS) such that you can deploy and continue to improve your models as they relate your business operations.
This will guide you how to do that.
Save time and money
You will receive a burst of knowledge and be taught how to apply AI/ML concepts blended with risk management. Short and sharp at only 5 weeks part-time.
Acquire practical skills for your role
You can read theory anywhere. This course shows you how to apply it through worked examples in class and a project that simulates what you would be required to do in your role.
Open doors to new opportunities
This course will provide you with additional skills to be a step ahead in your chosen profession, increasing your value and consideration for future career opportunities.
Connect with global peers
It’s nice to know there are other like-minded learners like you. What better way than to learn socially together and build your network globally.
