This is the second of three levels in the Arascina Cyber Necessities Program™ aimed at upskilling non-techies in cyber security. You will build on your previous cyber skills by learning system and process weaknesses, knowing attack methods, as well as planning and executing attacks. These will build your break mindset so that you can readily identify and advise businesses or stakeholders of heightened risk exposures within organisations.
In the practical project, you will break a process or system for a given industry or company of your choice. This will make you fit to apply cyber by breaking, i.e challenge process and operational functions for their security gaps and weaknesses.
Disruptions, digital transformations and process designs can often bring inherent design weaknesses in security. The break mindset gives professionals an edge by being able to identify and advise of weaknesses from a cyber security lens that would otherwise lead to heightened risks in businesses.

Do I need to be an ethical hacker for this?
While ethical hacking and offensive security are great tools to have, the course does not require this as prerequisite knowledge.
Non-techies are encouraged to develop their break mindset such that they can identify how things operate and break. This means you can advise and add value to various business functions in organisational and consulting capacities – the purpose of this course.
How is this different from other online courses?
This course will provide you with immersive learning, critical thinking and you walk away with a skill that you can use in your job/role.
If you are looking for a few videos to watch followed by a multiple choice quiz to get a certificate, then this course is likely not for you.
How will this course be delivered?
Classes are run live online with an instructor. An orientation pack will be provided one week prior to classes commencing, which includes your confirmed weekday for the instructor-led class.
This ensures you receive direct access to leading expertise and can ask questions in class, thereby reinforcing your learning as you go.
Which cohort do I get?
As a learner, we want you to get the maximum benefit from your global cohort-learning experience:
- Upon registration, you will be assigned into a small cohort for optimal instructor-led, online face-to-face classes; and
- Each week, you will have the opportunity to be learning with like-minded peers as part of a community of other cohorts.

How do I get the skills badge
To receive the skills badge, you will be required to:
- Attend all instructor-led classes
- Satisfactorily complete all course activities
