Course Overview
You're a risk professional that wants to expand your operational risk skills with cyber. Perhaps you're a security professional that needs to lean on the risk side of governance to table security at the Board level.
In this course, you will learn new models and techniques to blend cyber security and risk management such that you can communicate and address threats and security weaknesses from a risk lens. Translating security vectors into risks ensures cyber blends into your enterprise's risk programs and strengthen the overall Risk Management Framework, which in turn enables effective cyber security oversight from the Board down.
In the practical project, you will build a risk profile for a BU of your choice with a cyber security angle.
What you get and outline
Module 1
Intro to cyber risk
Understand and get across the cyber models, risk elements of security and the cyber risk landscape for various industries.
Module 2
Cyber risk assessments
Learn to conduct and review cyber risk assessments, with a focus on frameworks that can help you translate security incidents/threats/vulnerabilities into risk statements and subsequently BU risk profiles.
Module 3
Physical security risk
Review and outline the physical environment and how security vulnerabilities or potential threats can be efficiently monitored with an audit and assurance strategy.
Module 4
Cyber risk operations
Learn the key operations of various industries and cyber risk exposures arise in carrying on and executing an enterprise strategy.
Module 5
Build a cyber risk profile
Bring all the previous modules together and build a cyber risk profile for a chosen BU within your organisation or that of a client. Use your risk management knowledge to transpose and integrate cyber security exposures into a functioning Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
Pillar 1: Strengthen defences of potential targets to make it harder for ransomware attackers to launch successful attacks.
Organisations should implement risk-mitigation measures… to ensure that key assets can be recovered in the event of a ransomware attack.
